The squad says it's working connected "a new bilk-platform, elite group videogame where players have the power to create worlds and tell stories in unprecedented freedom."

The studio was founded by Matted Schembari (Old UI music director, Epic), Dan Hertzka, Nathan Fairbanks (former project manager and producer, BioWare, ZeniMax Online, and Epos), Glenn Rane (former art director, Snowstorm), and Marc Hutcheson (former brand handler and merchandising director at Blizzard and Epic). The games on their resumes include World of Warcraft, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Overwatch, Fortnite, and The Elder Scrolls Online.

"We all love highly social, creative games, and we peculiarly beloved games where players drive the narrative," CEO Schembari said. "We are looking to combine elements from Minecraft or Roblox with tabletop RPGs to form a new way to play roleplaying games. Given our backgrounds, making a game that looks to revolutionize RPGs was an obvious tasty."

"Revolutionize RPGs" is bold and vague, simply there are some de facto inside information Here. Roblox is Thomas More of a platform for making and playing games than a game in itself. So, are we looking at a creation tool and customer for member tabletop adventures? Or will information technology be more suchlike a player-motivated MMO with custom building? Something in between?

The totally-remote studio recently raised $5 million from multiple companies and investors, including Dreamhaven, the indie publisher and developer founded subterminal twelvemonth by outmoded-Blizzard founder Mike Morhaime, who says that the studio "has a gross ton of potential difference."

Lightforge Games recently expanded its roster, hiring Bridget Collins (former mettlesome intriguer, Blizzard), Jarred Everson (former character artist, Snowstorm), and software engineers Dónal Mack Carthy and Josh Gross (both of Epic poem Games), among others. Lightforge is currently hiring for more roles, including lead animator and community managing director.
